Weekly Update - 9 June

June 9, 2017

Welcome back to the weekly update. We have been very busy this week. As well as the usual activities we have had a couple of interesting trips and visits.

Fire engine visit

Excitement was very high on Wednesday, as two fire engines came to visit on Wednesday. We were shown many of the cool gadgets and gizmos, and many people had a go sitting in the driver’s seat. The firemen were very helpful and keen to help and teach us about the engine and life as a fireman. Just before they were due to leave they received an emergency call, so we also got to see them kit up and dash away with blue sirens blaring. Overall we really enjoyed learning a bit about the firemen and their engine, and we would love to see them again if they fancy a return visit.

Players picnic

'I went to a lady's house, It's really good. We had a packed lunch and had a walk. Come back, we had a cake and a cup of tea.'  - Daisy

'They were doing it in the name of Richard Player. We had a picnic and fed the ducks and the Geese. We had afternoon tea at the house. It was at Flimwell. It was nice.' - Bridget

'It was at Dianne and John players in-laws, who live in their own house outside Flimwell in a woodland area. We met some relations, called Caroline, Charlie and Peter, who was John Players brother. We had a picnic there and they showed us around. We fed some ducks we did.  Other people had cake in the early afternoon. It was very nice and pleasant!' - Dominic
