This week at the Co-Op:
A big thanks to Natasha down at Sedlescombe golf club, who went out with a few guys on Tuesday to give them a go on the main course. Most people have never been on a proper golf course before, and there was a lot of excitement surrounding this opportunity.
‘It was great fun, it was brilliant, and I really enjoyed it. It felt different to playing in the driving range and it was hard to hit it off the grass. We used a tee to make it slightly easier to hit. I thought it went very well. We used irons and putters. We played 3 holes. It was hard because instead of just hitting it as hard as you can you had to take it quite slowly.’ – Kyle
On Wednesday our regular walking group decided to go up to Bedgebury. While we were there Wendy introduced people to a variety of different trees. Wendy is an expert on trees. Here she is teaching some basic tree climbing and hugging techniques. The next time an important road building project is announced we will be much better prepared to protect our precious local trees from the greedy fingers of capitalism.
Later on today we are hosting a DVD night. DVD nights are always well received, as they give people a chance to chill out and have a bit of a get-together with their friends in a more relaxed, social setting. People usually choose to go to the local takeaway place to get a kebab, or a pizza. This week on the schedule we have Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Star wars franchise is a popular one here at the co-op, and we organised a trip to see the latest film earlier this year. Hopefully everything goes to plan this evening and we will have some stories to tell next week!
