Welcome all for a double helping of weekly update! We have been very busy, and unfortunately we were not able to get an update out last week due to......
Last Friday Parchment was closed for our annual staff training day. This time around we had training on PBS (positive behavioral support), watched a video explaining a bit about the various challenges that parents face, and enjoyed some team building exercises. Hopefully you will see the fruits of our hard work over the coming year. Personally, I also learned a bit about designing a successful parachute. This did however leave little time for blogging, which is why there was no blog last week.
Art Group - in the jungle'
The art group runs every Thursday afternoon. With the help of Mike, the group explores different mediums of painting and drawing, and teaches people the techniques they need to create masterful works like the ones you will see below. Last week the art group were given the task of using watercolours to paint vivid jungle scenes. Here are a few photos of them channeling their creative juices. They seemed very pleased with the results!
The woodwork group have again been hard at work over the past 2 weeks. They are currently making planters such as the ones below. They would like to make more, but need more wood to continue. If anybody has any spare new or used off cuts of ‘decking’ we would be very grateful.
Not to be out-done, the knitting group have also been working hard over the past month or so. They have put together this charming woolen patchwork sheet, which they now need to auction off to raise money for future projects. If you are interested and would like to support the group, then we are taking any offers. We would love to see it go to a happy home! Call us on 01424 442432 or leave a comment
That's all for this week! Next week we are looking forward to DVD nights and golfing trips, amongst other things. We wish you well and hope to see you again next week!
