Stachys can be annuals, perennials or shrubs, with paired leaves which are sometimes unpleasantly aromatic, and erect spikes or racemes of whorled, 2-lipped flowers. 'Simba' is a mat-forming, evergreen perennial with rosettes of soft, oblong to elliptic, densely white-woolly, silvery, grey-green leaves and erect spikes of whorled, two-lipped, purple-pink flowers in summer.
