Paeonia may be herbaceous perennials or deciduous sub-shrubs with large, divided leaves and showy large bowl-shaped flowers, usually in early summer. 'Doctor Alexander Fleming' is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial, with dark green, divided foliage and fragrant, fully double, pink flowers from early to mid-summer. Prefers full sun and partial shade.
