Fundraising Campaign - Electric Vehicles - £55,000

Updated: Feb 15, 2022

The Climate Emergency affects us all, and we at Parchment Trust are determined to do whatever we can to reduce CO2 emissions. Our vehicle fleet currently runs on petrol or diesel which contributes to rather than reduces emissions. We have consequently set ourselves the goal of changing our vehicles to fully electric or hybrid as soon as possible and as a first step we have recently purchased two hybrid vehicles. We are also applying for the installation of electric charging points at our Friary Gardeners and Theaklen Drive sites.

We already encourage our service users to consider the environment through recycling and reduced use of non-recyclable materials. We feel that the move to more sustainable transport will evidence our commitment to our service users and, just as importantly, will further encourage them to consider their own environmental impact, inspiring them to take an active part in the creation of a cleaner and healthier local community environment.

As a next step, we would like to change two of our diesel vehicles to electric or hybrid by 1st January 2023 at a cost of £55,000.

We hope that by 2030, we will have been able to exchange many of our petrol or diesel vehicles for electric or hybrid alternatives.
